This case documents a bulk urea export loaded at a Chinese port. Urea was delivered from the producing plant to the port in bulk, then loaded into the vessel hold by conveyor and grab.

Bulk shipments demand tighter planning than containers: vessel nomination, laycan, hold cleanliness inspection and loading rate all need to line up with the production schedule. Our role is to coordinate the plant, the port, the inspection agency and the vessel so the cargo loads on time and to specification.

For bulk cargo, quality control focuses on moisture and caking — holds are inspected before loading, and sampling is carried out during loading for the final quality certificate.
